Aberfelin

Pembrokeshire

Location Guide

Text starts here (+ any pictures needed if a featured page)

A Pembrokeshire cove facing north-west, also known as Aber Draw, near the village of Trefin.

When the tide is out the beach is sand and shingle with numerous rock pools, hemmed in by rugged, unstable cliffs. The rocks and cliffs make it rather unsuitable for bathing, and you should be careful not to sit too near the cliffs. It also has it's own special island with a tunnel you can walk through and clear blue water.

There is a cove and a ruined mill on a stream, which is the subject of a famous Welsh poem and which gives the cove its name (melin or felin welsh for mill). Access to Aberfelin Mill is via a slate-lined footpath and

over a stone bridge which goes over the stream. This footpath also has a slate seat with an area alongside suitable for wheelchair users.

The nearby village of Trefin is the weaving centre of Welsh Crafts, and has a pub/restaurant with a children's room and garden.

As with most of this area, there’s good walking along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path in either direction.
